Titan Wales Comic Con aims for UK record with biggest collection of movie and TV vehicles ever seen in Wales
Titan Wales Comic Con is raising the bar once again, with organiser Andrew Macfetters revealing a huge expansion to this summer’s event – including plans to set what he believes will be a UK record for the largest gathering of movie and television vehicles.
Taking place at Cardiff Football Stadium on Saturday 25th July, the event has already promised an action-packed day of entertainment, but Andrew says the latest additions make it unlike anything previously staged in Wales.
“We’re planning on setting a UK record for the most movie and TV cars and bikes at one event,” he said.
“I think the current record is around 20 in Bolton, although I’m not completely sure. We already hold the Welsh record, and we’re expecting around 16 or 17 iconic vehicles this year. Most events only have between two and eight.”
For fans of classic films and television, the line-up is packed with instantly recognisable vehicles.
Among those confirmed are the 1989 Batmobile, the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future, K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, the A-Team van, the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, the Blues Brothers police car, Barricade from Transformers, Postman Pat’s famous vehicle and even a Mario Kart go-kart.
Andrew also revealed that the UK’s first appearance of the Danger Mouse car has been secured for the event.
Beyond the vehicles, visitors can expect a huge range of displays and attractions, including an Aliens prop exhibition, Transformers props, a full Doctor Who TARDIS and console room, and characters from the classic sci-fi series V making their first appearance in Wales.
Batman fans are particularly well catered for this year.
Alongside the 1989 Batmobile, a special Batman guest will be attending, joined by the Joker and Batman cosplayers for dedicated outdoor photo opportunities.
Andrew believes this year’s event is becoming one of the biggest comic conventions Wales has ever hosted.
“I’m making it the best event in Wales, and one of the best in the UK,” he said.
“It’s an event no one will want to miss, especially if you’re a Batman fan.”
New vehicle announcements and teaser trailers continue to be released in the run-up to the event, with organisers encouraging fans to keep an eye on the Titan Wales Facebook page and official website for the latest reveals.
With affordable entry, free parking, and under 12s going free, the event is designed to be accessible to as many people as possible.
