The KNOW Magazine | South Wales News, Events & Business

Terms and Conditions

By booking an advert, the Advertiser, meaning the client or person(s) making the booking with the Publisher, meaning M.E Publications and Print Ltd trading as Know Magazine, you agree to the Terms and Conditions outlined below.

The Advertiser (the person, firm or company purchasing advertising services for themselves or their clients) is responsible for obtaining all necessary permission or authority to use any images or text in their advertisement, including any materials provided to the Publisher for design work. Any images sourced by the Publisher will be sourced and licensed appropriately.

All advertisements must comply with current applicable legislation, regulation and codes of practice. The Advertiser agrees to indemnify the Publisher against any legal action arising from the publication of the advertisement.

To guarantee inclusion in a specific edition, the Advertiser must submit their copy by the 20th day of the month. The Advertiser is responsible for approving all artwork, and the Publisher will not be held responsible for errors that have not been highlighted for correction. A soft proof will be provided by email and must be approved in writing by email prior to print.

The Publisher reserves the right to amend publication dates or refuse any advertisement at any time.

Payment for all advertisements is due before printing. The Publisher reserves the right to withdraw advertisements if payment has not been received by the 20th of the month, unless a credit account has been approved and opened by the Publisher’s management.

Late payments exceeding 30 days may result in the account being passed to an external collection agency and may incur additional fees.

Payment may be made by card, bank transfer or cheque. Where payment is made by card, the Advertiser may be asked for permission to securely store card details for ease of future bookings or payment for the next issue on a pre-agreed date, not later than the due date shown on the invoice.

Advertising rates are subject to change at any time. Block bookings paid in full will not be affected, but new bookings will be charged at the current rate. To qualify for block booking rates, advertisements must be paid for in full before the first advertisement is printed. Changes to individual or block advertisements may result in a surcharge in line with the current rate.

The Publisher may occasionally offer last-minute, one-off discounted rates. Availability and terms of these offers are at the discretion of the Publisher.

The Publisher does not guarantee specific placement of an advertisement unless a premium position has been agreed and paid for.

Any advertisement that appears to contain editorial content will be clearly marked with the word “Advertisement”.

In the event of publication delays caused by factors outside the Publisher’s control, including but not limited to designers, printers or distribution partners, the Publisher will make reasonable efforts to maintain planned distribution timeframes but cannot guarantee a specific publication date.

In the case of errors or omissions made by the Publisher, the Advertiser will be entitled to either a re-insertion or a proportionate refund. This does not include errors resulting from artwork approved by the Advertiser, including misprints or late changes where approval was given without full review.

Artwork created by the Publisher for the Advertiser remains the property of the Publisher unless otherwise agreed. The Advertiser may purchase the artwork for an agreed fee.

To allow sufficient time for the resale of reserved space, the Advertiser must provide written notice of cancellation by the 15th day of the month. Email notification is acceptable but must be acknowledged by the Publisher. If the Advertiser cancels partway through an agreed advertising package, previously published advertisements will be recalculated at the standard rate. No refunds will be given on prepaid packages. The Advertiser may cancel a package at any time with reasonable notice, unless cancellation is due to circumstances outside the Publisher’s control. Any refund for unpublished advertisements will be calculated at the package rate.

In the event of force majeure, the Advertiser may cancel the advertising package without penalty.
